Google does not make a secret of it: On September 21st 2009, Matt Cutts, Software Engineer at Google, posted in the Webmaster Central blog, that the meta keyword tag has no influence in the web search ranking of Google at all.
However, Google offers an option to search for meta keywords and the leading search engine recently started paying attention to the meta description again.
Even though meta keywords do not influence Google at all, it may slightly influence other search engines.
